Director Prof. Anthony Maniscalco
Mr.
Maniscalco was named Director in September 2001. He previously served
as Assistant Director beginning Fall 1995. He holds a Master of Arts (MA)
in Political Science and a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) in Political
Thought. He is currently completing his PhD. in Political Science at the
CUNY Graduate Center. His doctoral disertation focuses on the role of
the United States Supreme Court in defining public space, in particular
as the Court responds to free speech controversies occurring on commercial
property. He has served as faculty coordinator of the Government and Public
Affairs Internship seminar at Brooklyn College, John Jay College and Hunter
College, and has been a faculty member in the Model New York State Senate
Session Program since its inception in 1997. Mr. Maniscalco is a long
time resident of Brooklyn.

Assistant Director Ernesto Malave Jr.
Mr.
Malave has served as Assistant Director since 1998. A graduate of John
Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, he is pursuing his Master's of
Urban Planning degree at Hunter College where his focus is economic development
through educational policy reform. He has also worked for El Puente, a
youth and community development center, and New Visions High School in
Williamsburg, Brooklyn where he helped create and coordinate a new site
in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Since 1998 he has served as the Administrative
Coordinator for the Model New York State Senate Session Project. Mr. Malave
is a life-long resident of Brooklyn.
